- Le Corbusier
It was truly an honor being involved with typeforce 2. Having been educated out of state, my exposure to the Chicago design community had been limited. This show was an opportunity to not only share my work, but connect with some of Chicago’s most talented designers as well. This city is a (design) force to be reckoned with, and that is something I am very proud to be apart of.
A three-dimensional typographic experiment based off of the Le Corbusier quote, “Space and light and order. Those are the things that men need just as much as they need bread or a place to sleep.”
A native of the Chicago suburbs, Jarred began his design career as an architecture student at the University of Kansas. Quickly coming to terms with his mathematical limitations, he shifted his focus to graphic design—which proved to be a much better match. Today Jarred is back in Chicago, wielding his multidisciplinary skills at vsa Partners while adhering to the belief (borrowed from Bobby Knight) that “satisfaction is the first step toward defeat.”
