Brandt Brinkerhoff

Hailing from Orem, Utah, Brandt Brinkerhoff holds his BFA from Brigham Young University. There are a devastating 26 letters in his name, and he has an unhealthy obsession with the late 1960s North American folk band, Buffalo Springfield. A true glutton for punishment, Brandt enjoys hand-binding books in his free time. This is partially due to his ardent belief in the magic and power of words—the shapes they take, the sounds they make and the visions, smells and tastes they conjure. But despite this passion for literature, it’s safe to say Brandt is a tactile man, highly concerned with craftsmanship, quality, and the design process. His love for his wife and two children is nearly surpassed by his deep-seated and highly irrational love for three-sided polygons. That’s right, you heard me. Residing in Chicago’s Roger’s Park neighborhood, Brandt is currently Fellow of Elven Robot Manufacturing and Time Travel at vsa Partners. He is also the founder of Mastodon, a rebel design cohort established by the person, for the people—Insurgo Edere!

Katherine Walker

As a graduate of SAIC in Chicago and connoisseur of fine French cuisine, Katherine Walker has come a long way from her modest Appalachian upbringing. Considering her apartment is sandwiched between a butcher shop and a tattoo parlour, that may not be 100% accurate. But she is a Chicago Bulls season ticket holder. Katherine is a co-founder of the highly touted and often-inked Quite Strong—an all-female design collaborative focusing on community-oriented events and empowering creatives. Katherine is currently a Senior Designer at VSA Partners and has had her work featured in AIGA 365, STA Archive, and Communication Arts. She is a pragmatic idealist, as committed to her principles as she is to putting them into action. And if you catch her on trivia night, watch yourself. This woman is a pop culture maven. Her nickname? “Walker-pedia.”
